Everyone's editing their videos with Claude Code, but nobody's telling you how or they're locking it behind a paywall or a waitlist.

But i'm not a gatekeeper, so i'll show you everything you need to go from raw footage to a ready to post video. First, you need the cloud desktop app.

Next, we have a folder on your computer and call it ai video editor. Then inside that folder, create four subfolders, one for raw footage, one for references, one for assets, and a fourth one for exports.

Then start a new cloud session and select the folder you just created. Now, cloud has access to all your editing files. Next, we need to give claude tools for editing.

Just paste in this prompt, and he'll set everything up for you. Now, it's time to define your editing style. You can have claude clone your favorite creator's editing style just by sending it 3 of their videos, or you can just give it your own videos to pull the style from.

Drop in this prompt along with the reference videos, and clapper will study the style and create a reference sheet. Finally, drop in your raw footage inside the subfolder we created earlier, and give claude this prompt to have it edit the video.

It handles the cuts, captions, sound effects, and even the music. It puts everything into a storyboard for you to review, and if there's something you want changed, you just tell it to fix it like a real editor.
