Dyna Robotics 双手机器人 Taku 演示自主洗衣叠衣

Why is laundry such a big deal in robotics? It combines unpredictable objects, changing priorities, and mistakes that need fixing in the moment. Dyna Robotics’ Taku tackles those challenges in an hour-long demonstration the company says is autonomous and uncut. The wheeled, two-armed robot loads machines, folds towels, and puts them away. Its software coordinates movement, performs physical tasks, and tracks what needs to happen next, allowing it to pause folding, unload a dryer, and resume. Dyna says customer-site testing is the next step toward the bigger goal: handing a robot an entire job and trusting it to keep working without constant supervision.

So why is laundry such a big deal in robotics? This is taku, a robot that's loading washing machines, folding towels, and putting the way in this hour long demonstration.

And the company behind the demo called dina robotics says that taku operated autonomously throughout, and the video is completely uncut.

It moves on four wheels with two arms and a folding body that lets it reach inside dryers and crouch down to shelves. But the challenge is managing everything happening around it.

If a dryer finishes while taco is folding towels, it has to pause, unload the machine, and then return to the unfinished work.

But if it accidentally grabs two towels, it needs to separate them before continuing. To manage that, the software actually works in three different layers.

One coordinates its body 100 times per second, another directs physical actions like picking up a towel. But above those, a vision language model decides what happens next, and keeps written notes about which machines are running, and how much folding is finished.

That's why laundry is such a revealing test. Items like towels change shape every time they're handled. Machines finish at different times.

Mistakes force the robots to adjust. Taku still needs to be tested on site with real. Real customers, but this demonstration is a step towards handing a robot an entire job and just walking away.
