ChatGPT does my life admin part 2 your downloads folder getting ChatGPT to automatically rename and organize all those files you've downloaded and screenshots if they go there so you can actually find stuff and it's so easy.

Let me show you how so first you just download the ChatGPT desktop app which unlocks lots more that you can do with it anyway, switch to work at the top, click choose project under the chat box, hit new project and just call it downloads.

And then below that, add your downloads folder. Then just use this prompt, which you can screenshot here. Sort my downloads by their contents into a few useful folders with descriptive file names.

Move anything you're unsure of to a folder called review. Don't delete or overwrite anything. Keep a log of original names and locations so we can undo.

Right, so you've organized it. But then you can talk to ChatGPT and just follow up with any changes you want, like maybe there's some receipts in there.

You could say put them in a receipts folder, or any extra organizational stuff that you need. Now, you could come back every week to this same chat, and just say, organize it again, and it will know what to do.

Or, you could follow up and say, now do this every sunday evening, and it will create a schedule task view, which automatically sorts out your downloads every week.
